Have you heard of Movember?
Each November, men in North America grow stupid moustaches as a fun way to raise awareness for 3 serious men’s health issues:
- Prostate Cancer
- Testicular Cancer
- Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
I work with a bunch of former Club Penguin staff and we’re hosting a contest to raise awareness for Movember.
You can enter if you’d like, the contest is for ages 13 and up.
The prizes are:
- $100 Amazon gift card and a 6-month WTFast subscription
- $50 Amazon gift card and a 6-month WTFast subscription
- A 6-month WTFast subscription
They’re also giving 10% of all 6-month and 12-month subscription purchases to the Movember charity.
Back in the day at Club Penguin, a bunch of the team would participate in Movember, including the ladies! I still laugh when I think of my fiance’s Tom Selleck look.
November wasn’t just about ninjas and icebergs, it was also about moustaches. I like to think of November as “Moustache Month” (mostly cuz I like alliteration and it sounds fun)
Mental health is probably one of the most important aspects of anyone’s health. I know that for me, I’ve learned how important mental health is in my own life.
Having fun and doing things like growing silly moustaches is a way to help the mind focus on positive things, which is a key to a healthy mind!
Did you know that anxiety (worrying about the future) can actually make pain feel more painful? I learned that one last year when I pulled my back out and ended up in the hospital for a week. I didn’t know that my mental health would have any impact on my physical health, but guess what? It does!
Anyways, I’m going to be participating in the moustache-growing and exercise goals this November. If you see someone wearing a silly moustache this month, don’t be surprised. Instead, cheer them on!
Until next time… Moustache on!
